Activities in 2005

B.R.C.L.C.C.

Member Scott originally developed the idea of the BRC Liquor Control Commission at the 2004 event on a cozy, flask tipping afternoon of pillows. We all hopped onto the brainstorming train, and developed the concept and particulars in this forum for several months.

The pitch: a dozen or more Tikis in full padded cammo pull-overs charge in formation to Black Rock City neighborhood bars to enforce strength of drink and slant of mind. This year we had a portable red door on wheels in tow, which lent well to a memorable entry thanks to our Marty-crafted battering ram. Flasks ready, gruff voiced Tikis swarmed the parties and held position while Captian Marty read aloud the citizens' rights and responsibilities. That finished, the drink alcohol levels of all present were brought to code under the careful, practiced hands of the BRCLCC.

Community Scaffolding

Tikidom's corner location was exploited as host to a community-accessible scaffolding, which provided unobstructed, panoramic views of the horseshoe and surrounding desert. Scaffolding was lovingly provided by Brent. An example panoramic view from the lower level is provided here courtesy of member Eunice.

ESP Testing

Member Brent performed several ESP Testing Sessions to explore and measure extra sensory activity among fellow Burners. The sessions proved worthwhile, sometimes lasting hours and yeilding insight into the unusual abilities of certain indiviiduals and the possibilities of the community in whole.

Camp Layout

The following were initially proposed Tikidom camp layouts. Owing to the yearly exponential growth of our group, we've taken to laying down a firm and considerate community map that seeks to establish task-oriented boundaries and streamlined community areas - lounge areas, a kitchen, and a head-turning community shower. The first image that follows features a layout for a corner position, the second for a non-corner position. In 2005 we were happy to get the former. Both sketches were expertly produced by Tikidom's beloved resident Architect, Eunice.
